Could someone take over your task?

Think of one concrete task, such as a recurring report or the preparation of an approval. Eight questions about the handover and two about urgency help you record what is already settled and what is still missing.

The check is for your own preparation. You can complete it without signing in, or print it.

Your task at a glance

The information in the check is processed only on this page and is not sent to me. You can reset your answers or print the result for yourself.

Optional. A general name is enough. Please do not enter names, credentials or confidential details.

How urgent is the handover?

  1. Would an interruption of this task have important consequences?
  2. Does the handover need to be prepared at short notice?

Eight questions about the handover

  1. Is it clear who can take over the task?
  2. Are the main steps and responsibilities described clearly?
  3. Are important decisions and known exceptions recorded?
  4. Can the person covering find the right documents in their current version?
  5. Is it clear which access and instruction the person covering needs?
  6. Does the person covering know whom to ask when questions are open?
  7. Has the person covering worked through an agreed case with the documents?
  8. Is it clear who updates the documents when things change?

What you can do with the result

Discuss the open points with the responsible specialist and a possible cover. First choose the point that obstructs the handover most. Agree who clarifies it by when.

The assessment is based on your answers. It does not replace instruction or a review of the actual task.
