Secure experience-based knowledge

Secure experience-based knowledge before it goes missing

Anyone who has done a task for a long time knows more than the official instructions. Together we capture this knowledge for an agreed area of work – for handovers, cover arrangements and onboarding others.

What it is about

Which exceptions occur? Why is a step done differently? How do you know when to check with someone? This kind of knowledge rarely appears in instructions – and it is missing when the person is not there.

How we proceed

First, we choose with you which knowledge matters most. I then talk to the employees involved about their work – based on concrete situations, not a general job description.

We include existing documents, templates and examples. Nobody has to produce perfect documentation alone; I help select and prepare the relevant content.

Conversations take place one to one or in regular on-site sessions. Recordings are not required. Whether and how anything is recorded is agreed in advance.

What you receive

A digital handover package describes the agreed tasks, responsibilities, key decisions and special cases. The required documents are linked. Open questions and unverified details remain visible.

The format fits your working environment, for example editable documents, PDF files or a structured folder in an existing system. No new software is needed to get started.

When is the handover usable?

The responsible experts review the content. With a designated stand-in or another agreed person, we then test on an example whether the package is understandable and usable. This also shows what still needs to be added.

A conversation does not replace practical qualification. Where a task requires additional instruction or experience, this is stated explicitly.

With employees, not over their heads

At the start we clarify the purpose, access and later use. The engagement serves knowledge handover, not performance assessment. Relevant internal bodies are involved early.

Where useful, I also support those involved in using approved AI tools. Review and approval of the content remain with the responsible people.

CONVERSATION

A small area is enough to start

We agree on a manageable area of work and a concrete outcome. Afterwards you decide whether further handovers make sense.
